Excellent accommodation on magnificent Marissa beach

The newly refurbished Reef House beach villa in Mirissa provides 3 bedrooms in a Colonial style home. This very private beach villa, located on the Surf Point in Madiha on the south coast of Sri Lanka. Reef House offers elegance and luxury for up to 6 guests seeking an ‘away from it all’ beach retreat.

When you walk into the open plan living/dining area you are greeted with pool and ocean views. You will step on to the verandah which provides outdoor seating and leads to a neatly manicured garden.

All areas of the property offer WiFi, as well as cable TV and a DVD player. A small library of books and DVDs are available for guest use. The lawn by the pool offers the perfect space for a game of badminton. A fishing rod is also available for anyone wanting to try their hand at catching a fish for supper.

Most importantly, of course, our two adorable rescue dogs ‘Beauty’ & ‘Gaston’ are here to welcome you to their home. Both are fully vaccinated and totally loved by all our visitors.

Whilst one bedroom is located downstairs and looks out onto the pool and ocean, the other 2 are upstairs. A central feature of the Reef House Beach Villa is the spiral staircase which takes you to the upstairs bedrooms. The master bedroom and bedroom 2 share a large balcony with stunning views of the Indian ocean. Also, all the bedrooms are elegantly furnished, two with 4 poster beds. The bedrooms are air-conditioned for your comfort. They also have ceiling fans, mosquito nets, safes and private ensuites with rain showers.

The infinity pool features a jacuzzi which you will love.  Sunbeds and deck chairs that are scattered around the garden offer you complete privacy.

Reef House Beach Villa Staff

The villa offers you the services of a full-time cook and a houseboy. The cook will prepare all your meals. He is an accomplished cook specializing in Sri Lankan, oriental and Indian dishes. Further, he offers a range of traditional Sri Lankan vegetarian, seafood and chicken or pork BBQs. Should you want to dine out, there is also a range of restaurants within walking distance.

Guests can take their meals on the veranda or at the main dining table. There is also a lovely sit-out area by the ocean steps for those evening sundowners.

You can access the beach via a private gate and steps. Sometimes you will see sea turtles swimming just beyond the rocks. During the season females nest on the beach close to the villa. A truly unique experience to watch the baby sea turtles swim out to sea.

Another great feature, just a short walk along the beach you will find 3 wonderful rock pools. These are perfect for children to play in and are completely safe.

Madiha is becoming very popular amongst intermediate to advanced surfers. It is considered by surfers to be the 3rd best place to surf in the south. You get consistent swell, 350m rides and a reef break. The surfing season is typically from late October to April. Your access to  Madiha surf break is just a short walk directly from Reef House Beach Villa.
