Paddy Fields in Rural Habaraduwa

Your journey through the quaint Sri Lankan local villages and vibrant green paddy fields leads you to Ivory House Habaraduwa. You will experience the enchantment of the rural treasures of everyday Sri Lankan life as the road meanders onward. After passing along the large verandah at the front of the house, your vehicle will stop on the gravel driveway. There, right in front of the main house, you will feel the enticement of the pool.

As soon as you enter the Ivory House, you will find yourself in the sitting room. The sitting room contains a large sofa, matching armchairs and two über trendy photo lamps. Large retractable shutters reveal in “real-life widescreen” a panorama of iridescent green rice paddies. Adjacent to the panoramic view is a large satellite television and a surround sound music system.

Contemporary Design and Furnishings

The elegant, contemporary design cleverly complements the traditional layout of the Ivory House. Not only does the villa look good, it feels good! The large tri-fold doors facing the paddy fields allow the cooling breeze to circulate Ivory House Habaraduwa. At the same time, the extensive verandah keeps the sun at bay.

Right next to the sitting room you will find two bedrooms. Each room has a generous queen-sized bed, an ensuite bathroom and finally, an outdoor shower. You are assured of deep, restful sleep in air-conditioned luxury. Small antiques, such as fans and typewriters add a certain elegant romance.

Running through the centre of the Ivory House Habaraduwa a wide-open hallway houses the kitchen and indoor dining area. You will also enjoy dining at the table on the paddy side of the house which benefits from cool breezes. Further, the dining atmosphere combines lighting and high ceilings. The modern, fully equipped kitchen is directly opposite. It offers very generous storage and meal preparation space.

Slightly recessed in an alcove are two doors lead to the two master suites. Both rooms are nothing less than gargantuan. You will be overwhelmed by the beautiful four-poster king beds and antique furniture. Your Master Suites have ensuite bathrooms and are air-conditioned. Firstly, one has a double outdoor shower whilst the other has a tub. Large retractable shutters allow the breeze and scenery to flood into the room. This is certainly the place for you to enjoy the view whilst sipping a cup of tea in bed.

Ivory House Habaraduwa Has Outdoor Elegance

The stylish twenty-metre pool runs perpendicular to the paddy. It boasts a large drop-off step into deeper waters, ensuring you an uninterrupted morning swim. However, it is also a great place to enjoy a casual afternoon dip to cool off in the heat of the day. The tastefully designed, large open space pavilion doubles as a BBQ and party area by night. So you don’t have to run up to your room there are in-situ shower and toilet facilities.

Whether you choose to enjoy the sunset from the verandah of Ivory House Habraduwa, or over the paddy fields from the pool. Or even stretch that to yoga in the pavilion, this is a place of total peace and tranquillity.
