About Aqua Boossa
Aqua Boossa is a private beach villa evoking the traditional Sri Lankan tropical architecture with a unique spacious contemporary minimalist interior.
Direct gate access to a quiet beach and expansive ocean views. Relax on the terrace, garden surrounding the pool or on the sandy beach. The UNESCO town of Galle is nearby and a short stroll will reveal village life and Sri Lanka’s diverse flora and fauna.
Aqua Boossa comes with a housekeeper and cook. A concierge is just a phone call away
The space
Aqua Boossa has three air-conditioned bedrooms. Each has a large double bed and an en-suite shower room. The inside space is completed by an open-plan living/dining area and a small kitchen used by the chef to prepare your meals.
However, you will probably spend most of your time outside. The shady verandah has seating and a dining table for eating al-fresco. In the lawned garden, you will find a swimming pool and lots of options for lounging in the tropical sun. And if that wasn’t enough, the garden gate opens directly onto the beach and a small area where we can set up sun-loungers for you.
Guest access
Guest have access to the entire property except for the staff quarters.
The area
The small town of Boossa, home to Pitiwella Beach, is a brilliant off the beaten path destination near Galle, Sri Lanka. It’s the perfect place to relax away from the crowds found at some of the country’s more popular tourist hotspots. There aren’t too many things to do in Boossa other than enjoy Pitiwella Beach, visit the beach bars and simply chill out, but it’s this simplicity that makes it a wonderful place to visit. As it’s a quieter destination you’ll get a slightly more authentic Sri Lankan experience, as well as the added benefit of restaurants and accommodation being cheaper than in nearby Galle. We loved it so much that we ended up extending our stay from a few days to over a week, so it’s definitely worth spending a few days here if you want a relaxing getaway. Chill at the beach bars
The beach bars along Pitiwella beach in Boossa are a great place to enjoy some drinks during your stay. Even if you don’t fancy a drink, it’s well worth spending some time there as all the bars have a chilled out vibe and lovely beachfront location.
There are a few bars to choose from, with our recommendations being Reggae Bar & Cafe, Bara Beach Bar and Smile Beach Bar. All three bars have a relaxed but enjoyable atmosphere, as well as a decent drinks and cocktail selection!
Both Reggae Bar & Cafe and Bara Beach Bar have conveniently timed happy hours around sunset, so you can enjoy a cocktail or two as you watch the sun dip below the horizon.
With some luck you’ll be treated to a dazzling display of colours, but if not you’ll still be able to get 2 for 1 cocktails! Happy hour is from 5.30pm to 6.30pm at both Reggae Bar & Cafe and Bara Beach Bar.
Bara Beach Bar is generally the liveliest bar in the area, with music and dancing until late. If you fancy a chilled out drink then head to Reggae Bar & Cafe, which was home to some dogs and puppies during our stay!
